At Green Studio we offer bespoke garden design whether you are starting from a green field site or are looking at an existing garden makeover. Our garden design service is built around a series of steps from the initial meeting and site survey to producing concept drawings, detailed planting plans right through to plant sourcing and project management. These steps can be taken as stand alone services or availed of as a complete garden design package.
Garden Design Consultation and Site Survey
The first step in the garden design process is to sit down with you to carry out a detailed site survey. This will allow us to understand your garden, how it is to fit in with your lifestyle including your own personal styles and preferences.
Landscape Master Plan Drawing
Having come away with all this information we will then proceed to put together a design concept for your garden, preparing and presenting to you a landscape master plan drawing with material and plant options.
Detailed Hard and Soft Works Design Plans
Once you are happy with the Landscape Master Plan we can prepare detailed hard and soft works design plans which can include 3D views. These plans will include material specifications, plant varieties & sizes, notes on particular planting methods and associated support systems, irrigation if required etc.
Planting plans are one of the most important elements when designing an open space; well chosen plants will dramatically enhance a landscape and add colour, texture and depth to any garden. We choose and source the right plants for your project through our links to specialist growers in Ireland and across Europe.
At Green Studio we can create planting plans to suit a wide range of styles, locations and conditions whether your preference is for formal planting, contemporary styles, traditional herbaceous boarders or for a cottage garden. We will work with you utilizing our knowledge and understanding of plants, form, shape, texture and colour to give you your desired effect.
We will take into account the particular characteristics of your site, the needs of you or your family when using the space and the desired function of the planting. These factors can range from an existing dominant soil type, a wish to create shade and privacy, introduce seasonal colour, accentuate views or hide unsightly infrastructure or provide a sensory aspect through touch and scent.
To ensure your plants are properly cared for and look their best into the future we can also prepare a detailed maintenance plan for your planting scheme.
Once you are happy with the planting plan we have created if you wish we can source the required plants from a network of nurseries here in Ireland and on the continent to ensure you get the best quality plants possible at competitive rates. Our experience ranges from developing site specific plant types or locating specimen trees to filling large or unusual orders.
Bill of Materials
Green Studio can provide a bill of quantities for the works involved. This document clearly sets out all of the materials and plants you have chosen and their specifications. It contains all of the quantities and measures stating the methodologies to be used. This bill of quantities provides for a clear and detailed document when pricing the proposed works and can help all parties in cutting out a lot of back and forth with questions, queries and resulting clarifications. This will minimize costly and time consuming revisions and alterations when receiving and assessing quotations from landscape contractors.
